“2008 Georgia Reader of the Year”

74 books and more than 6 million words this school year alone, It way sound like a lot, but Jack Hooper, a 7th grader at Arnold Magnet Academy has done it. Reading at least 17 hours a week, Tuesday, he was honored at a reception in Atlanta, where he was named "2008 Georgia Reader of the Year."

“It just seems fun when I have extra time, I will find a good book or I'll find a series that I like and continue to read it,” said Hooper.

The Muscogee County School District winner for his essay on "What reading means to me," Hooper represented the District's Reading Council at the state level.
