Academy Night At Columbus Tech

Julie Bercik

The Patrick Hall Auditorium at Columbus Tech was packed with hopeful students last night.
Columbus Tec hosted its annual academy night, where high school seniors can learn about dual enrollment.
Te program allows those seniors to earn 20 college credits, and get a certificate in their concentration.
Areas of study include health science, financial services and more.
A student who recently took part in the program said dual enrollment helped her land a job.
"I was more than confident to start my job at St. Francis because a good thing at Columbus Tech, they are career focused and they do want to go ahead and let you get your skills out the way, so when you graduate here you are ready for your job,” said Claudia Haines.
Tuition for the program is paid through the Georgia Hope Grant.
