Mother Thanks Community for Support After Tragedy

Maria Jones

With the recent loss of her three children, the local community continues to reach out to the mother of three in her time of bereavement. NBC 38’s Maria Jones has the story.

The community is bringing support right to Agena Battle’s Doorstep.

“Although in Pain, she thanks everyone for being there. Thank you, so much for being behind me on this. It was a lot of times, I felt like I was alone, but every time I walked out my door somebody was saying something to me. Gave me a lot of hope,” Battle said.

But there are still so many unanswered questions…Battle, added, “He was a very good man, and he was a great dad. He was an awesome provider. I don’t know what happened. And I wish I can ask him.” Her story has recently received national attend and members of her community continue to reach out to her and her family. Battle’s neighbor Stanley Thomas, told NBC 38 “I couldn’t image, by being a single parent, I couldn’t image losing a kid, basically losing three kids, and you know I am anxious to see her, come home. And because you know I want to talk to her. You would be surprised how many people have come by. People not even in this neighborhood, you know for support, really want to talk to her. It’s nice that, the support that she’s getting.” And 20 miles away in the small town of Buena Vista Georgia, the Langston’s are rendering their services in her time of need. “We know the burdens of losing a loved one personally. I think everyone have experienced that loss just imagine with three at one time. You know it’s just overwhelming. So what we decided here at Langston Funeral home is to donate and render our services to the family” General Manager of Langston’s Funeral Home, Robert Langston stated. A memorial service has been scheduled for this Saturday at 2pm at the faith tabernacle church on Floyd road in Columbus. You can also donate on line by logging on to www.amberalertfounder.com.
