FEDS TO INVESTIGATE USC'S HANDLING OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAMS AGAINST FORMER OBGYN
(CNN) – The U.S. Education Department will investigate how the University of Southern California handled sexual harassment claims against its former OBGYN.
The department said Monday it will look into the the university’s response to complaints about Doctor George Tyndall.
Officials said some complains date back to 1990, but were not fully investigated until 2016.
Tydall is accused of inappropriate behavior by 52-former patients.
Several of them are suing him for sexual misconduct and racist language.
Some accusers say the sexual misconduct happened during pelvic exams.
But Tyndall; who was fired in 2017 said his exams were medically appropriate.
Police are still investigating if any crime was committed.
