World War Two Veteran Honored For Service and Sacrifice

91 Year old Robert Sutherland volunteered for Army service right out of high school in 1945.

The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center in Columbus, Georgia honors an Army Veteran more than 70 years after his sacrifice for our nation.

91 Year old Robert Sutherland volunteered for Army service right out of high school in 1945.

He enlisted in the 88th Infantry Division and was promptly sent overseas.

The 88th Blue Devils were instrumental in running the Nazi’s out of Italy.

After the Army Sutherland came home and started a power company lineman career lasting nearly 40 years.

Now dealing with dementia Robert Sutherland was recognized with a certificate of honor from the Infantry Museum for his voluntary service to our nation during World War Two.

Sutherland now makes Columbus, Georgia his home.
