The first of two rounds of wet weather will be moving through the area overnight. While a brief shower cannot be completely ruled out for Wednesday, most of the rain will occur before dawn, and it’s not much anyway. For those traveling northbound, heavy pockets of rain across northern Alabama and north Georgia can produce flooding.
Closer to home, mild weather will linger over the next few days. Showers and thunderstorms will be more prevalent Thursday in advance of an approaching cool front. The risk of severe weather is quite small, albeit not zero. A gusty wind will accompany the storms on Thursday as well.
Friday will be the first in a series of sun-filled days. That means it’s a get outside weekend! Keep in mind, however that some chilly weather will infiltrate under the cover of darkness, so the morning hours this weekend will be chilly before the afternoons make up for it.
