Department of Education Investigating how MSU Handled Nassar

DEPT. OF EDUCATION CONDUCTING TITLE IX INVESTIGATION INTO MSU AND DR. LARRY NASSAR'S SEXUAL ABUSE CLAIMS

(CNN) – The Department of Education is investigating reports of sexual abuse by doctor Larry Nassar at Michigan State University.

Education Secretary Betsy Devos released a statement in regards to the title nine investigation at MSU.

Nassar was sentenced to prison earlier this month after hundreds of gymnasts came forward with claims of abuse when the doctor worked for USA gymnastics and Michigan State.

Some of the victims say the university dismissed their complaints and didn’t prevent future abuse.

The Department of Education investigation will look into systemic issues at the university and examine reporting procedures related to Nassar’s behavior while employed by MSU.
