SCOTUS does not Block Order to Redraw Pennsylvania Lines

SUPREME COURT DECLINES REQUEST FROM PENNSYLVANIA GOP TO STOP REDISTRICTING

(CNN) – The Supreme Court on Monday declined a request by Pennsylvania Republicans to block a redistricting order by the state’s highest court.

After a challenge from Democrats, Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court ruled that the Republican-drawn congressional maps violated Pennsylvania’s Constitution.

Monday’s order by the U.S. Supreme Court, issued by Justice Samuel Alito, upholds the Pennsylvania high court’s order to re-draw the district lines.

The redistricting order has massive implications for the 2018 mid-term elections, possibly helping Democrats pick up more seats in congress.
