Raymonville Named Peach Belt Player of the Week

Columbus State University women’s basketball player Machala Raymonville was voted the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
The senior averaged 26.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of Lady Cougar victories last week. She also shot 54.5 percent from the field and made 8-of-14 3-pointers.
Raymonville opened the week with 19 points in Columbus State’s road victory at conference-leading North Georgia. She then followed it up with a career-high 34 points in Saturday’s 84-74 win over Augusta.
The Rincon, Ga. native recently crossed the 1,000-point mark for her career and is currently averaging 18.3 points per game. She ranks fourth in the PBC in scoring and is top 10 in 3-point and free throw shooting.
Columbus State plays host to Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Lumpkin Center.
