Paul Ryan Deletes Tax-Cut Tweet
PAUL RYAN DELETES TWEET ABOUT GOP TAX REFORM AFTER FACING BACKLASH
(CNN) – House Speaker Paul Ryan has deleted his tweet about the GOP tax reform, after facing a backlash.
He mentioned a news report about a secretary who gets an extra $1.50 a week because of tax cuts.
But Ryan then took fire from people who accused him of being out of touch.
They said that an extra $1.50 a week is not much of a pay raise.
Several Democratic leaders joined the chorus on twitter, including California’s Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom.
He tweeted a screen shot of Ryan’s original tweet.
Newsom also tweeted, “guess someone told Ryan you shouldn’t go around praising yourself for giving a working person an extra $1.50.”
