15 Year Old Suspect Charged as Adult for Pawn Shop Murder
Quintavis Williams charged with Murder of Joseph Johnson
15 year old Quintavis Williams and another man were seen perusing the Columbus Pawn Shop around noon on December 20th allegedly hoping to sell an amplifier according to court testimony.
The pair left the shop empty handed after their first visit but returned 30 minutes later.
That’s when police say Joseph Johnson was ambushed , shot once in the head in front of another coworker who immediately unloaded his own weapon striking both suspects during a shootout.
Williams was found just 50 yards away from the scene with a gunshot wound to the hip.
His Defense Attorney Mark Shelnutt noted only one of the suspect’s was armed.
The alleged gunman, a 21 year old called “Q” was also located nearby on Torch Hill Road with a gunshot wound to the leg.
So far Attorney Shelnutt says everything his 15 year old client told police has been corroborated and the camera doesn’t lie.
Detectives confirming in court the incident was caught on surveillance and a video tape is likely to leave little doubt about who pulled the trigger.
Williams is being held in the Youth Detention Center without bond.
His case was bound over to Superior Court.
The suspected trigger man is still being treated for a serious injury and more charges are pending.
