The average life expectancy for Americans is lower, again.

In Your Health Minute, Americans are dying younger.

Life expectancy for Americans has dropped for the second year in a row.

And accidental drug overdoses appear to be the major part of the problem.

A new report from the Center for Health Statistics says the US life expectancy is now 78 years 6 months a slight decline from 78.7 last year.

There hasn’t been a decline of two years in a row since the 1060’s.

Deaths form drug overdoses increased by 21 percent from 2015 to 2016.
