He’s not a guy of many words, but he makes up for it on the field and on the court. Meet Omar Boston, a linebacker in the fall and a point gaurd in the winter. The two sport athlete also carries a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. For Omar it’s eat, sleep, breathe academics and athletics.
“School, then practice, then go home and study after that I just eat and go to sleep,” says LaFayette senior Omar Boston.
Football is the favorite. He says it’s just something about being on the field. His stats reflect that. In the 2017 season he recorded 168 total tackles of those 3 were sacks 6 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. For Omar it’s more than just performing on the field.

Outside of sports he likes to work on his car which ultimately led to his decision to pursue a mechanical engineering degree.
“I just like making stuff, it seems interesting to me,” says Boston.
Omar’s younger brother Corey also plays point gaurd in basketball and defense in football. It isn’t the only thing they share. Both bostons believe in setting a high standard in the classroom.
“Just always study and always keep your grades up you know never let down or settle for less,” says Boston.
