Chinese Panda Named by First Lady Macron

The first panda born in France was finally named today by the French first lady and Chinese officials.

The four month-old cub was named Yuan mMeng which means “realization of a dream.”

The little guy wasn’t impressed with First Lady Macron or the Chinese officials.

He was a little feisty and repeatedly growled and jumped at the dignitaries.

The cub’s parents are on loan to France and after two to three years the cub will be sent to a panda reserve in China.

Traditionally Chinese officials name new panda cubs.

The First Lady helped to announce his name.

For years China has gifted friendly countries with its unofficial mascot in what has been called panda diplomacy.
