Georgia Dominates in the SEC Championship
UGA DEFEATS AUBURN 28-7 FOR THE SEC TITLE
It was an exciting weekend of college football and especially in Atlanta for the SEC championship where the Georgia Bulldogs came out on top 28-7 over the Auburn Tigers.
Auburn came out in the first quarter dominating Georgia in the air and on the ground leading them 7 to 3 going into the second quarter.
With a banged up Auburn team, injuries greatly slowed down their offensive attack as the game would progress. It showed as UGA’s defense held Auburn 4 of 13 on third down conversions.
UGA went on to win the SEC title 28-7 holding the Tigers scoreless in the last three quarters of the game.
“It’s incredible really. You know this is one of the goals we set for ourself at the beginning of the season so it is great to accomplish it, but it is also a stepping stone to some bigger goals that we have so we are going to enjoy this and then we are going to get back to work,” says Georgia sophomore placekicker Rodrigo Blankenship.
“It was a pretty good game. I think Georgia did their best you know gave the best they could. We couldn’t pull it out and I give credit to them. They are a good team, but you know we just have to get back to the drawing boards and get better,” says Auburn senior defensive back Stephen Roberts.
