Amerigroup Georgia Hosts Holiday Farmers Market in Columbus

“Right before the holidays, we are thrilled to roll out our Farmers Markets throughout Georgia, starting here in Columbus,” said Mel Lindsey, president, Amerigroup Community Care of Georgia.

The Winter months often means saying so long to fresh produce. But now just in time for the Holidays Amerigroup Georgia is hosting a Holiday Farmers market in Columbus.

WHAT:                 Eating fresh fruits and vegetables – direct from local farms – is a great way to jumpstart the holidays, help ensure a healthy lifestyle and invigorate the local economy.

Just in time for the holidays, Amerigroup Community Care of Georgia is bringing an old fashioned Farmers Market to Columbus – increasing access to fresh produce, promoting healthy eating and creating a sense of community.

“Right before the holidays, we are thrilled to roll out our Farmers Markets throughout Georgia, starting here in Columbus,” said Mel Lindsey, president, Amerigroup Community Care of Georgia. “By providing fresh produce free of charge, our goal is to promote healthy eating. Our holiday Farmers Market initiative will also educate the community about the importance of creating a healthy, active lifestyle.”
