Off Duty Lee County Deputy Saves Motorist

An off duty Lee County deputy and his father saved a man after he left the roadway and overturned in a creek.

It happened off of Highway 431.

According to Sheriff Jay Jones, the deputy and his father saw the car leave the roadway and found the man pinned in his pickup truck. He flagged down an 18-wheeler and they helped pull the truck out of the ditch.

The driver is at UAB and his conditions are not known at this time.

Sheriff Jones said it could have turned out to be a different situation. Luckily, his deputy was there to help.
