Law Enforcement Offers Safety Tips Before Trick-or-Treating
Your ghosts, goblins and princesses are going to be out in the neighborhoods trick or treating Tuesday.
But, law enforcement is offering some tips before heading out Halloween night.
They said always trick or treat in groups and don’t go inside someone’s home or car.
Make sure an adult is with each group.
It’s also getting darker earlier, so make sure your kids wear reflective costumes & a flashlight is always a great accessory.
Make sure that kids aren’t running in between cars and they are always crossing at an intersection.
When it comes to candy, always check that as well.
“Always have the adults check the candy and only keep candy that is individually wrapped. Don’t take anything that is in a big bag open, handed out like that. Make sure each individual candy is wrapped and look at it very carefully,” said Cpt. Bobby Kilgore with Opelika Police Department.
And don’t forget to have fun!
