Hurricane Nate has forced a popular attraction in Alabama to close.

Officials announced that Gulf State Park Pier in Gulf Shores is closed indefinitely.

Crews are working to repair what Nate destroyed.

Waves could be seen crashing over the end of the pier during the height of the storm.

Dozens of panels that weigh around 5-hundred pounds each – were blown out or damaged.

The timetable for repairs is unclear, but park officials say it won’t open until they are certain repairs are complete and it is safe.
