Scholar Athlete: Columbus Softball Player, Emily Davis
7 AP classes later including a lighter schedule her senior year with AP Calculus AB and AP Macro Economics, Emily Davis is ready to take on her next step.
“Columbus high has definitely over prepared me for college and i’m planning to major in pharmacy and for the first two years I would really like to just go and stay home at CSU,” says Davis.
Emily doesn’t just excel in the class room but also on the field. She is the starting second baseman on the varsity softball team.
“It’s crazy, we go to several different tournaments throughout the year and so that takes up your whole weekend doing the tournaments and then you come back on Sunday and you have to catch up on your school work and stuff,” says Davis.
If that wasn’t enough on her plate, shes having to go straight from practice to help work on her senior project and then come home and do homework until about 10:30, but she’s still aspiring for more.
“I’m in several different national honor societies like the Beta club and national english honor society and then i’m trying to join spanish club and our fellowship of christian athletes,” says Davis.
Emily’s weighted gpa is at a 4.357 and while she is very self-motivated she had a lot of help along the way.
“I’d like to thank my parents for pushing me and just pushing me to just do my best and always be dedicated,” says Davis.
After her two years at Columbus State University she hopes to transfer to Mercer for pharmacy school. Congratulations to Emily Davis of Columbus high school, this week’s scholar athlete.
