Navy Suspends USS John McCain Rescue

NAVY SUSPENDS SEA SEARCH FOR MISSING SAILORS OFF SINGAPORE

(CNN) – Search and rescue operations for U.S. sailors missing in waters off Singapore have been suspended.

The remains of one sailor have been identified.

Nine others are still missing.

The search will continue in the flooded compartments of the USS John McCain.

The McCain collided with an oil tanker Monday east of the Malacca Strait.

It’s the fourth time a U.S. warship has been involved in an accident in Asian waters this year.
