New Dean for Troy University’s College of Health and Human Services

DR. DENISE M. GREEN NAMED NEW DEAN

TROY – Dr. Denise M. Green has been named dean of the College of Health and Human Services at Troy University.

Dr. Green had served as interim dean of the college since July 2016, and has served as chair of the Department of Social Work and Human Services since 2009. She also has served as the director of the Bureau of Research, Evaluation, Administration and Development since 2009.

“Dr. Green’s leadership has been key in the growth and elevation of the University’s social work program, which has become recognized as the best in Alabama and among the top programs in the country,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor. “During her time at TROY, she has continuously demonstrated a comm

itment to the University’s student-first philosophy, and the students, faculty and staff of our College of Health and Human Services will benefit from her leadership moving forward.”

A former Chancellor’s Fellow at TROY, Dr. Green is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds Private Independent Practice certification within the State of Alabama. She also has been a member of the Alabama State Child Welfare Consortium since 2008.

D. Green has served on several University committees, including the University Research Committee, PanHellenic Council Mediator, College Executive Committee, College Review Committee, University Review Committee and the Honors Convocation Committee.

Dr. Green holds a bachelor’s degree from the University North Carolina at Wilmington, a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.
