TYLER PERRY SIGNS DEAL WITH VIACOM

(CNN) – Viacom announced Friday that it has signed a multi-year content partnership agreement with film and TV mogul Tyler Perry.

The deal encompasses television, movie and short-form video created by Perry.

He’ll produce roughly 90 episodes of original series content a year for Viacom Networks including BET.

Viacom will have exclusive distribution rights to Perry’s short-form video content.

Paramount Pictures, which Viacom owns, will get “first-look” rights for any of Perry’s new feature film concepts.

Perry says he’ll continue on a non-exclusive basis to produce projects with Lionsgate and OWN.
