Police say they received information that a woman was being threatened at gunpoint by a suspect wanted for murder.

When they moved in, chaos erupted.

That tip prompted a police chase that ended here on Cusseta Road after two suspects struck a patrol car.

“The suspect vehicle turned into the side of the first patrol vehicle causing him to lose control and strike a telephone poll.” Chief Boren

Police say the suspects quickly lost control and bailed from the vehicle , one suspect brandishing a handguns directly at the officers.

“And a second blue and white that was responding saw that individual with that gun and ran over the individual that had the weapon to eliminate the threat”

The gruesome scene quickly cordoned off by detectives where the alleged murder suspect lay dead.

Investigators say 22 year old Deonte Giles was wanted for the April first murder of Dudley Jones Jr.

A second armed suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle

One officer required medical treatment.

“An Officer was transported to the hospital the one that spun out and hit a telephone poll. He’ll be treated and released.”
