Glenwood’s Tim Fanning Elected to 2017 AISA Hall of Fame

FANNING WILL BE INDUCTED LATER THIS YEAR

After years of community service, coaching baseball and helping his players become better all-around student athletes, Glenwood’s Tim Fanning is being recognized.

Fanning has been named to the AISA Hall of Fame and will be inducted later this year.

Fanning has been with the Gators since 1999 and is in his 14th season as head coach of the varsity baseball team.

He’s won a total of eight state championships and has more than 450 career wins under his name, but he says that’s nowhere near the best part.

“Seeing kids grow up to not only be great baseball players, but great young men that are gonna go and be husbands and fathers and be pillars in your community at some point or other communities,” he said. That’s really the blessing of coaching.”

Fanning is also known for his work with non-profit organization, More Than A Game. Fanning has taken area kids on trips to other countries where they help build baseball fields, donate equipment and make a difference.
