Area Female Athletes Recognized at Annual Luncheon
Recognition for their hard work.
That’s what area athletes were celebrating on Thursday as the 2nd annual Columbus Valley Area high school female awards luncheon was held.
Each of the 24 schools sent two or three female athletes from all different sports with a total of 50 athletes being recognized.
One of the biggest honors of the day was the female athlete of the year, given to Tatyana Wyatt of Columbus High School.
“It means a lot,” Wyatt Said. “This event shows that there’s a lot of girls around the city that are also pretty good at sports as well.”
Of the 50 athletes being recognized, six of them were former WLTZ Scholar Athletes.
