Who Will Be Auburn University’s New President?
Special meeting called to vote on Gouge successor
Six months after Auburn University President Jay Gouge announced his plan to retire, university trustees are poised to announce who will succeed him.
Board members are scheduled to convene a special called meeting on Monday, March 20, 2017 where trustees will vote to select and name a new president.
Gogue plans to retire this summer.
A 14-member search committee began looking for the next president last September after Gouge announced he would retire.
Gogue became Auburn University President in 2007.
He earned a bachelor’ degree from Auburn in 1969 and a Master’s degree from the university in 1971.
Gouge is a Georgia native.
