Trump promises new immigration order next week

Trump promises new immigration order as DOJ holds off appeals court

(CNN) – President Donald Trump plans to roll out another executive order on immigration.

Earlier this month, a federal court decision pushed the pause button on Trump’s immigrant-and-refugee travel ban.

The president says his new executive order will be tailored specifically to the court’s decision.

He plans to sign that order next week.

Trump’s previous move on immigration was suspended by a Federal Court and upheld on appeal.

The Trump administration had asked the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for a larger panel of judges to rehear the case; but the Department of Justice is now essentially telling the court, “nevermind,” because a new executive order is on the way.
