Central, Auburn boys and girls advance to AHSAA 7A Region Finals

The AHSAA 7A Regional Semi-Finals took place Thursday afternoon at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome in Montgomery.

The Auburn girls played in the first 7A girls game of the day and beat Jeff Davis, 58-20. Nautika Philpot led the Lady Tigers with 17 points and 4 steals. Alexis Tate and Shanlya Holly each added 14 in the win.

The Central girls played in the second 7A girls game of the day and beat Robert E. Lee, 75-54. Tiyah Johnson led the Lady Red Devils with 31 points while her sister Teyah added 23.

The Central boys played in the first 7A boys game of the day and beat Jeff Davis, 55-52. Demarkus Lampley led the Red Devils with while Donald Jackson added 10.

The Auburn boys played in the second 7A boys game of the day and upset top ranked Robert E. Lee, 57-40. Christian Brandt led the Tigers with a game-high 19 points.

The Regional Finals will take place next week in Montgomery with the winners advancing to Birmingham.  The Auburn and Central girls will tip off at 9AM CT while the Central and Auburn boys will play at 10:45AM.
