Carver girls enter tournament as top seed, first time under head coach Anson Hundley
High school basketball playoffs in Georgia begin this Friday and several area teams will be competing for a state title.
The Carver girls are one of those teams entering the tournament off a thrilling win in the Area finals. The Lady Tigers are 22-4 on the year and are currently ranked 4th in the GHSA AAAA rankings.
It’s the first time under head coach Anson Hundley that Carver is a one seed. He says his girls have been preparing for this moment.
“That’s something that we wanted to do is set ourselves apart from other teams,” Hundley said. “We want to be a team that is mentioned within the state as one of those high caliber teams, and I think being the number one team in the region going into the state playoff definitely gives us that edge.”
The Carver girls host Baldwin on Friday at 6pm. A complete first-round schedule can be found on our website.
