Twinkies recalled for possible health risk
Hostess recalls Holiday White Peppermint Twinkies over possible salmonella contamination
(CNN) – Hostess is recalling some of its holiday white peppermint Twinkies over possible salmonella contamination.
It comes after Blommer Chocolate Company, which makes the white candy coating on the Twinkies, revealed the coating might contain milk powder contaminated with the bacteria.
The recall is voluntary, no one has reported getting sick and none of the Twinkies have tested positive for salmonella.
The recall applies to white peppermint hostess Twinkies sold in multipack boxes with nine individually wrapped cakes in a box.
Customers can return them to the store they bought them in for a full refund.
