Obamacare still popular with 11.5 million sign-ups
Obamacare remains popular despite threats to repeal it
(CNN) – Obamacare may be on the ropes in Congress, but it remains popular with Americans.
Federal data reveals more than 11-and-a-half million people have signed up for coverage through the federal marketplace healthcare.gov and the 12 state-based exchanges as of December 24th.
That’s nearly 300,000 more than the same time a year ago.
The data comes as president-elect Donald Trump and the Republican-led Congress call on repealing Obamacare as soon as Trump takes office.
However, critics, including some republicans, say a replacement plan must be ready before anything is repealed.
