Beauregard and Opelika advance to the AHSAA state football championships

Opelika and Beauregard will both play for a state championship at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The two teams won their respective semi-finals games on Friday, November 25th.

Opelika defeated Park Crossing, 41-23. They’ll be making their second 6A title game appearance and will be looking for their first state championship in the sport of football. They’ll take on Ramsay in the 6A title game on Friday, December 2nd at 8/7 CT.

Beauregard beat Jackson on the road, 45-25 to advance to the 5A title game. It’s their first trip to the championship match as they’ll be looking for the school’s first football title. They’ll take on Wenonah in the 5A title game on Thursday, December 1st at 8/7 CT.

Lanett lost to Fyffe in the semi-final round of the 2A bracket, 33-20. They end the season with an 11-3 record.

In Georgia, Manchester’s season came to an end after falling on the road to Macon County, 28-14. They end the season with a 10-2 record.

Callaway advanced to the GHSA 2A semi-final game with a last-minute win over Screven County on the road, 35-34. They’ll travel to Benedictine on Friday, December 2nd for a shot to advance to the title game.
