Central looks to “finish”, prepares for 7A first round playoff game

The quest for a state title begins Friday, November 4th for Alabama high school football teams with the first round of the playoffs taking place.

In Phenix City, the Central Red Devils are a top seed in the 7A bracket as they look to finally capitalize and make it to Jordan Hare Stadium in late November.

The Red Devils have just one loss on the season that came in their first game against Hoover back in August. Since then, they’ve won eight straight games and have established themselves as a high scoring offense and a dangerous defense.

The Red Devils are hungry, ready to finish the drill in 2016.

"Yea know there’s a lot of excitement around and guys are excited about the possibilities," head coach Jamey DuBose said. "Last year, we kind of got a taste of it but we came up a little short right here at home and we would like another shot. All we can ask for is to play it one week at a time, take care of business, and try to get to the next one and get back to where we were and try to redeem ourselves."
