Father accused of intentionally leaving son in hot car cries during trial

Atlanta, GA (WXIA) – A father who is on trial in the hot car death of his young son, cried during court on Tuesday as the medical examiner detailed the child’s slow death.

Justin Ross Harris is facing multiple charges, including malice murder and felony murder, in the 2014 death of his 22-month-old son Cooper.

Prosecutors say Harris intentionally killed Cooper by leaving him for hours in a vehicle parked outside his workplace.

Harris’ lawyers called the death accidental.

Harris sobbed as the medical examiner described that the boy could have been alive at lunchtime, and died later depending on the temperature in the car.
