FBI denies “quid pro quo” over Clinton e-mail
(CNN) – New documents released by the FBI on Monday raise more questions about the Hillary Clinton email controversy.
At issue is whether there was any "quid pro quo" between the FBI and the State Department.
The FBI and State Department denies any "quid pro quo" was offered in a "back and forth" between them; over the classification level of an email on Clinton’s private server.
Under-Secretary of State Patrick Kennedy seemed to be trying to bargain with the FBI, in exchange for the reclassification of the e-mail relating to the Benghazi attack.
State Department Deputy spokesman Mark Toner called the allegations inaccurate and said Kennedy was just trying to understand the FBI’s decision to withhold the information.
Still, Republicans are seizing on the new information on Monday; using it to attack Clinton.
