Columbus State soccer duo recognized by the Peach Belt Conference
Columbus State University soccer players Tehgan Anguilm and Maylyn Parsons were selected as the Peach Belt Conference Defender and Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.
The weekly award is the first of Anguilm’s career, while Parsons is capturing the honor for the seventh time in her four seasons. Anguilm helped anchor the backline as the Lady Cougars shut out Clayton State and Georgia Southwestern. She netted her first career goal against Clayton State.
Parsons spent nearly 108 scoreless minutes in net without allowing a goal. The senior made a diving save on the only shot attempt she faced helping the Lady Cougars notch their fifth and sixth shutouts of the season.
The Lady Cougars continue Peach Belt Conference play on Wednesday with a road trip to Young Harris. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
