Matthew rakes Florida coast

(NBC News) Hurricane Matthew continues to push up the Florida coast.

The massive storm, now a Category Three hurricane, is packing sustained winds of 110 miles-per-hour and could produce deadly 11 foot storm surges.

"We are already starting to see the impacts, and its a monster," Florida Governor Rick Scott said late Thursday.

Electricity has already become a luxury in the strike zone. Tens-of-thousands have lost power and that number is expected to grow.

More than 11-million people along the East Coast are currently under a hurricane warning, and will feel the effects as Matthew continues to make its slow push up the shoreline.
