Focused on Zika
(NBC News) With spring and summer just around the corner, the concern of the Zika virus spreading through the United States is growing. The CDC is hosting a summit were state and local health officials are working to develop a game plan to identify areas the virus is most likely to show up and where to spray insecticide.
Most of the concern is pointed toward pregnant women, since evidence showing the negative effects that the Zika virus has on a developing fetus came out. A representative from the White House made a special plea to mothers, calling on them to urge congress to approve emergency Zika funding.
