Peeps show returns

Westminster, MD (WBAL) There’s March Madness, and then there’s Marshmallow Madness.

The annual Peep Show has returned to Westminster, Maryland.

The event is the Carroll County Arts Council’s biggest fundraiser and celebrates all things Peeps.

For the next 13 days, the council will celebrate the traditional Easter marshmallow candy with everything from art to movies.

Organizers promise this is one Peep show the whole family can attend. After nine years, the event only appears to be getting bigger. For example, consider Christian Twamly’s creation.

"It’s the Swedish Chef, to honor ‘The Muppet Show,’" Twamly said.

This year will be Twamly’s sixth year participating in the Peep Show. He said he is passionate about Peeps, just not about eating them.

When it comes to the detail, down to the clothes for his creation, Twamly said he went off the "Peep end."

"I was trying to work with texture and pattern for the shirts and pants," Twamly said. "I used a cookie cutter."
