“The world must unite”

(NBC News) President Obama’s history-making visit to Cuba was overshadowed Tuesday by the horrific terrorist attacks that left dozens dead in Brussels.

"This is yet another reminder that the world must unite, we must be together, regardless bof nationality, or race or faith in fighting against the scourge of terrorism," President Obama said during a morning speech to the Cuban people.

He went on to call for unity.

"I have come here to bury the last remnants of the Cold War in the Americas," Mr. Obama said. "I have come here to extend the hand of friendship to the Cuban people."

He also stressed the renewed relationship between the two countries is more about the people than the politics.

The crowd cheered loudest when President Obama called on Congress to lift the trade embargo on Cuba, and listened intently as he challenged the Cuban government to deal with alleged human rights violations.
