Bernie: No backing down!

(NBC News) Bernie Sanders is defying naysayers who believe it’s time to close ranks behind Hillary Clinton.

He hopes a winning streak in upcoming western primaries will change his fortunes at the Democratic convention in July.

"We think that some of these super delegates who have now supported Secretary Clinton can come over to us," Sanders says.

Likewise, some Republicans are looking for options to unseat their frontrunner, Donald Trump.

"The best way to do it is to get a unity ticket," says conservative activist Quinn Hillyer.

They’re hoping to pool the Not-Trump vote.

Former candidates and fellow Senators Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio have both voiced support for Ted Cruz, but stopped short of endorsing him, and John Kasich refuses to step aside, hoping more wins will make him the consensus candidate.
