Flood victims survey damage

Evans, LA (KPLC) Residents of Evans, Louisiana surveying the damage that flood waters left behind.

"Just memories, memories, memories, memories," said Kimy Jeane, who has lived in Evans for 12 years, "This is the second dumpster that we’ve filled up," she said as she pointed to a big red dumpster.

With a population of less than 1,000, this small community has proven that no matter their small size, the only true size that matters is the size of its hearts.

"Almost completely submerged underwater, you can see where the line is on the house where the water was," she said, adding, "We had to boat in and out to our house the first few days when it first happened."

She’s not alone. She’s one of the many residents in Vernon Parish who lost everything.
