Sneezing season arrives
Ft. Myers, FL (WBBH) Southwest Florida is currently home to some of the highest pollen counts in the country, and that has people stuffy and sneezy.
Online pollen records show Fort Myers at nearly a 10 with 12 being the worst, and doctors have noticed that increase too.
"Now we had a lot of moisture in December, a lot of rain, and that made things grow, so now when the rain stops, and things have grown a lot. It’s just pollinating a lot more so because of the larger amount of vegetation," said allergy and asthma expert Dr. Charles Klucka.
With all the different kinds of pollen, they’re also different treatments. Doctors recommend antihistamines and nasal sprays.
