Supreme Court Search Continues

(NBC News) A new NBC News poll finds a slim majority of the public wants President Obama’s pick to the fill the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court to get a hearing and vote in the Senate.

55% in the NBC News/Wall St. Journal poll disapprove of the Senate not considering a nominee. 48% say vote this year, up from 43% last month.

Still, Republicans claim most Americans want the next president to fill the court vacancy.

In the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday the Republican chair said there will be no hearing and no vote.

The White House is leaking that Mr. Obama is interviewing relative moderates, possibly including appeals court judges Merrick Garland, Sri Srinivasan, and Paul Watford and Ketanji Brown of the D.C. District court.
