One of the men had driven a woman to pick up items from an apartment unit. The woman's ex-boyfriend then came outside and confronted the man.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) – The Guardians of Rescue, a national pet rescue group, has put $2,500 toward the reward for more information in a Tuscaloosa cat abuse case. Earlier this month, a video of a cat being beaten with a belt was posted on social media and went viral. Police say Brandon White, a University of Alabama student, is the man beating the cat in the video.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – Police say a man has been shot to death at an apartment complex in Birmingham. Birmingham Police say a Hispanic man was found on the balcony Thursday morning with a gunshot wound to his chest.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley invited a group from a Montgomery homeless shelter for a post-Thanksgiving meal on the grounds of a state-owned estate. Bentley served turkey and trimmings and chatted about the upcoming Iron Bowl football game with residents of the Friendship Mission.
