Greyson Lambert Has Record Day in Athens Against South Carolina
The Georgia Bulldogs won’t call it revenge, rather a big win against a conference opponent.
“I mean we definitely wanted to win that game pretty bad and it’s just a great feeling walking away with a win," said linebacker Jordan Jenkins. "Not a ton of people got as many wins as we have against Coach Spurrier and it’s just nice to have a win for the fan base."
On Saturday night, the Bulldogs stopped South Carolina 52-20. It was their first thirty-plus point win over the Gamecocks since 1974.
“It’s just fun to win. Period," said head coach Mark Richt. "Every time I say I’m thankful for the victory and I am."
For quarterback Greyson Lambert, week three treated him much better than week two. In fact, Lambert was near perfection, looking more on target than he did against Vanderbilt.
“I definitely felt more comfortable," he said. "I prayed to God before the game. Kind of like I did the first game- I did at Vanderbilt too but I had to go through a rough patch. But just completely turning it over and all glory goes to God and just kind of went from there."
Lambert ended up completing 96-percent of his passes for 330 yards. His 20th straight completion broke the previous school record of 19 set by Mike Bobo back in the 90’s. Coach Richt’s response to that fun fact?
“Good," he laughed. "I’m glad we got Bobo’s record. That’s awesome."
Next up for Georgia is Southern University, followed by a huge showdown with Alabama.
