Planning For The Pope
(NBC News) – Homeland security secretary Jeh Johnson will be in Philadelphia Friday to review the operational security and contingency planning for pope Francis’ visit next week.
Johnson has designated the pontiff’s trip as a national special security event which allows for enhanced cooperation between local, state, and federal authorities.
Friday he will speak to the media alongside Philadelphia mayor Michael nutter and secret service director Joe Clancy.
Pope Francis will arrive in Philadelphia on Saturday morning, September 26th, And depart that Sunday night.
