Renovations Begin on CSU’s New Baseball Stadium
Construction has begun on the new Burger King Stadium that'll house Columbus State baseball games this upcoming spring.
The former Ragsdale Field will be going through a $1.4 million upgrade over the next couple of months. Renovations will include a roof over nearly the entire seating area, a new press box, and chair-back seats. CSU baseball coach Greg Appleton says the new stadium will not only provide a nice atmosphere, but will speak volumes about the program.
"I think what's gonna happen is it's gonna show that our baseball program is moving forward, moving into 2015," he said. "The old stadium was built in 1990 and what we're doing is we're refurbishing what we had and making it new and polishing it up and it shows that our baseball program is moving forward."
Appleton says the new stadium should be ready by the beginning of spring practice.
