TX:Oil spill debris removed from Matagorda Bay

Matagorda Bay, TX (CNN) – Crews cleaned oiled sand and debris from the shores of Matagorda Bay, Texas on Tuesday.

168,000 gallons of oil spilled more than a week ago in Galveston Bay when two ships collided.

The “captain to captain” conversation indicates they knew they ships were too close to each other.

Animal rescue teams have been cleaning birds and animals that were covered in oil from the spill.
